The Pinellas Association of Insurance Agents (PAIA) welcomes insurance agents (including customer service reps and more!), insurance companies, vendors, and related companies!   Our Board of Directors strives to better our local insurance community through our various events, information sharing, and networking. 

It was more than 50 years ago that a concept was created to form an association for independent agents in Clearwater. What started from occasional discussions concerning bookkeeping, invoicing techniques, to overall agency concerns evolved to an agenda to help their industry. The newly formed Clearwater Independent Insurors, Inc. elected to meet once a month to discuss and review various topics concerning them.

In the early 70' s the Largo and Clearwater associations merged to form the Clearwater Largo Independent Insurors, Inc. In the mid 70's the association became the Clearwater Largo Dunedin Independent Insurors. The goal remained the same, to build better awareness for its members through education and to promote a responsible role as insurance professionals. In the mid 80's The Upper Pinellas Independent Agents, Inc. was formed.

The growth and change of our association has been assisted with the help of many insurance professionals. Though some are passed or retired from the industry, they helped to create an association moving in the right direction. What has been a final positive move came to fruition in 1977 upon the merger of upper and south Pinellas creating the Pinellas Association of Insurance Agents, Inc (PAIA).

The Pinellas Association of Insurance Agents (PAIA) is committed to promoting the Independent Agent System.  Through our affiliation with FAIA and IIABA we provide educational resources to promote professionalism among our members and to aid our members in better serving the needs of our insurance client base.
